From Melanie:

"Holy Moly! This is all so impressive and I've loved reading what everybody's been up to. Quite an impressive group of people, to say the least.

I moved to Wilton our freshman year from Texas and I remember thinking I might as well have moved to Siberia. "What the heck is lacrosse? What are top-siders and fair-isle sweaters? Why are the girls playing field hockey instead of sitting on the sidelines doing pep squad?" It took me a few years but I came to love high school in Connecticut and it (thank God) broadened by (then) narrow horizons!

Since graduation, I flip-flopped between Texas and the Northeast. Graduated from Rice University in Houston, did a 2-year stint in p.r. in NYC, got my MBA in marketing at UT in Austin, and then marketing jobs in Chicago, Dallas, and LA...where I have finally found home. I love LA and its diversity, the Hollywood scene (when you want it), and our community. I live with my husband, Bruce, in San Marino (most people know it as the setting for the movie "Father of the Bride" w/Steve Martin), which is kind of like a slice of Connecticut in California. I have two precious daughters (ages 3 and 6) and have my own marketing consultancy...mostly working with entertainment companies on children's shows/properties...great for me as I still am involved in the industry without having to play as much of the politics, my least favorite part of my years in corporate life (mostly loving the rest!). Like a few of you, I spent many of them at Disney, getting great training for independence!

I think I'll be able to swing it out there (we're working on it!) and look forward to seeing everybody. Hopefully, name tags will be worn with old pictures to make the connections!

"Friends may come
And friends may go
And friends may Peter out

But I'm your friend
And you're my friend
Peter in or Peter Out!

Comments about Jakki:

--From Tanya Reed and Janice Clark Fay:

We wanted to say a few words in honor of the memory of our dear friend, Jakki. She will always be remembered as a person that made us laugh, smile, and enjoy life. She made every day an adventure. Our get-togethers always end in our reminiscing of Jakki and all of her special attributes. She left us way to early -- A loss we still feel to this day. Jakki, you will always be in our hearts. We love you, Tanya and Janice

--From Diana Pooley Hurwitz:

In Remembrance of Jakki Premru Jakki and I met on the first day of 7th grade at Middlebrook School. The seating in Miss Goodman’s English class was alphabetical, and Premru came directly after Pooley. As I sat down in my seat, I looked at the girl seated behind me and she smiled. We became fast friends. Jakki was always fun to be around. She was a natural leader and she had a great sense of humor. She was full of practical wisdom in the face of my teenage angst. She would listen to my dramas, then say “OK, let’s go have fun”, knowing instinctively that time takes care of most problems and nothing was ever that serious. She was right! She cared deeply and was fiercely loyal to her friends. The last time I saw Jakki was when my son was 9 months old. She came to visit us at UConn. I was in the middle of a stressful period of my life, finishing college, raising a baby, figuring out marriage. She listened patiently as I spilled it all, and then said, “OK, let’s go have fun.” Jakki died too young in December 1987. She cared so much for others; I think maybe she forgot to take care of herself. I wonder sometimes what Jakki would be like if she had lived. I like to think that she would have kept her sunny, wise disposition. I know that she would have been there for me, unconditionally, no matter what was going on in my life. She taught me how to be a good friend, loving without judgment. I think about her often and miss her. She was one of the best friends I ever had. Diana Pooley Hurwitz May 2006

Scott's Yearbook Quote:

"Show me a gracious loser and I'll show you a failure."

--Knute Rockne

**********************************************************************

We lost Scotty on June 6, 2004 to a heart attack he suffered in a hotel room in Pittsburgh while attending a rugby tournament. He was a resident of Washington, DC and was 41.

Besides friends and family, Scott’s passions included the beach, movies, music, and, of course, sports. He was particularly passionate about rugby, and was the founder of the Silverbacks RFC, joining the Connecticut Yankee’s RFC team in 1994, and in 2003, joined the Rocky Gorge RFC in Laurel, MD. His rugby mates have established the “Scott ‘Boz’ Pressler Memorial Trust”. This trust will be used for the development of rugby in the Norwalk (CT) community and also to assist injured and/or rugby players in need. The Connecticut Yankees Site: http://www.ctyankeesrugby.org/

Born on March 13, 1963 in Dearborn, MI to Richard and the late Janet Pressler, Scott was an excellent student, athlete, artist, teammate, employee, family member and friend that will forever be remembered for his insatiable appetite for laughter and his unbridled enthusiasm for just about everything. After leading teams that included State Championships in football and lacrosse, Scott graduated from Wilton (CT) High School in 1981 and then, along with Mike Fuller, attended Western Maryland College where both played football and raised hell.

From 1985 to 1988, he served in the U.S. Army’s Military Police Corps at the Biological/Chemical Weapons Depot on Johnson Atoll in the North Pacific Ocean. After completing his military commitment in 1988, he returned to the Wilton area and worked in the men’s clothing industry while completing his BA in Economics at The University of Connecticut in Stamford, CT.

After graduation from UConn, he enjoyed a successful career in media advertising sales. He began at New York City-based Seltel as an Account Executive in 1991, subsequently moving to Telerep, and then Fox Television Studios in New York in 2001. In 2003, he was promoted to National Sales Manager for WTTG/Fox 5 and WDCA/UPN 20 in Washington, DC.

Scott's mom passed away while he was in the Army. His father is well, and brothers Mike and Mark are married with kids...Mark's a cop in Madison, WI, and Mike's the Head Lacrosse coach at Bryant University in Smithfield, RI....Scotty loved his nieces and nephews....spoiled 'em rotten, I'm sure...

Scott spent the better part of his last 6 months trying everything he could do get a bunch of us together....it was almost spooky that once we finally decided on all meeting at a Yankee game, he AND Fuller both had to cancel last minute...Mike had to work, and Scotty because the Rugby team he had founded had advanced to the Championship round of a tournament in Pittsburgh. He died on THE morning of the championship game, but a stunned and inspired team went on and won it for "Boz"...

Nobody would have enjoyed this gathering more than our friend Mr. Red Line. I can literally see him with a Heineken in each hand, circled by friends, and doubled over laughing harder than anyone--no doubt at a joke he had just told...

"Remember Salesmen's Credo, George: It doesn't have to be true...just interesting!!!!"

He is most definitely With Us In Spirit. His Memorial website is
http://www.richardscottpressler.com .  If you have any pictures of Scotty from the “old days”, please send them along so we can post a few on his site…
