Wed 10/03/07--I received unfortunate word from John Rebo saying that fellow WHS '81 classmate Michael Leonard died in a motorcycle accident on October 1. He was 45 and living in the Locust section of Middletown, NJ. He is survived by his wife Cindy (John's cousin) and a son. John and Mike were Wilton neighbors growing up and had remained very good friends. Allyson Leonard (WHS '83) sent me this picture of "Stretch" and his young son on his Harley. Tough stuff. Am enjoying life to the fullest (although this 'working' thing certainly gets in the way, doesn't it?). While I don't play 'Mexican' or 'Thumper' as frequently as the old days, I've redirected that 'enthusiasm' into teaching my girls to ski, hike, and enjoy the outdoors. After many years in NYC and the 'tri-state' area, my wife Megan and I moved all of us just North of Boston, to a great location near the ocean and close to the mountains. Day trips to the white mountains of NH to ski, and ten minutes to the beach. Its a great feeling to have your 5 year old blast off the chairlift, turn her head back and say 'come on, Daddy!' as she speeds off. Am looking forward to seeing everyone in October! Pretty much a perfect day for me is being up at Cape Cod with my parents (both great), my sisters (Vicky's married to Tom Huestis), and all of our kids, zipping up our wetsuits (this includes my 73 year old dad and 3 year old son!) and bodysurfing and laughing until we can't feel our feet anymore.
